Adam,

I have used the retrieval on my Cannons for the past 3 years with my probe, and no problems. Just make sure it is in the roller, and you should have no issues at all. Good Luck.

yeah i ruined my first cable, raised the rigger and the cable was rubbing on the eye bolt that holds your weight, so i took off most of that, then saturday had to turn quick and the wire diver made a mess and they pretty much stripping the rest. so i only have about 60 ft of good cable. just ordered a new one 300 ft this time lol

That will do it, the retrieves are not what tears the cable up, it is usually a dipsey wire, a fish getting wrapped up in the cable, or bad currents that twist your rigger cables.

I use the Scotty retriever for my probe rigger, no problems, instead of the cannon pulley style it is more like a short piece of 3/4 diameter plastic pipe for lack of a better comparison
