How big is the boat? If the wind is out of the west you can launch at Dean's cove or Tfalls. If it is out of the north the waves can stack up. We have a 20' trophy and fished in a 30 mph north blow. Waves must have been 4 to 5 feet We could only troll with wind but still could fish. The waves tend to be closer together than lake"O" so it can be tough going. Wes

Just stay on the north side deans or long point and keep on eye on things. You shouldn't have anything over 3' on the side the wind is coming from and as long as it isn't blowing strait down the lake it shouldn't be bad. The day we had 4-5' we were fishing the south end with the wind out of the north strait down the lake. Just need to pay attention. Plus i never trust the weatherman anyway :D .

Go early out of Dean's, forcast west wind till 10-11am turning nw. I'm coming in the 16smoker gonna hit it early like 530-9ish before it rolls up outta nw. usually works out fine..

good luck an 18 Lund

From the looks of the forecast for Ithaca, you should be ok, calling for WNW 12. We fish out of a 19' Triton and usually don,t get blown off unless it's over 15 directly out of the north or south.

Multiple cold fronts will probably be more of an issue than the wind as long as you stay behind points but either way its better than work ;) -Andy

Thanks to all we had a great day.

Fished Cayuga all day today. Great lake. Lost count on numbers

But we got a bunch of smaller salmon, a bunch of lakers w two best around

8lbs. Largest salmon at 6 lbs, one small brown.

Not bad for a first time on the lake.

Took a while to figure it out as fish were shallower than I would

have expected. Started 30 down with free sliders. Took a good hit

on a free slider but lost the fish. He felt good.

Jake45's in NBK was hot. We also took hits on black silver

stinger, blue silver stinger as well as Jake orange tiger and

other various colors. The NBK was the hot one.

Most fish on the edge early 100 to 130 down 30 up and down

a few feet. Later more fish over 150 to 300 down 45. The ten color cores worked great once we ran all colors out. No hits on them shallower.

Was nice as they stayed weed free.

Thanks again.
