Flashers/flys

I'm running allot of spoons and having good luck. BUT I can't buy a hit on the flasher / fly rig. I'm running @2.5mph - 2.8 mph and about 10 ft off the balls. Also I'm running about a 12 Inch leader to the fly. Any one see anything I'm doing wrong here? I would like to learn as much as possible about the flahers and flys to add to my bag.

Your leader is too short. Start at 22 inches and adjust.

I do well with mine 20" from the end of the loop to the head of the fly. 20"-30" will work.

22To24 inches no more no less for kings w/ a flasher and fly

Your leader is way too short and ensure it is florocarbon min 30# - I use 22" with a lot of success (my hit ratio on flies has to be around 60 - 70%.

Are you using a florocarbon leader up to the flasher - if not you should, at least 10 feet long.

I use 40 lb trilene big game for my leaders...from diver to flasher flasher to fly. Just don't use braid or hi vis line

Braid for leaders I meant to add. Go 3 times the length of your flasher for leader length
