What are the rubber bands on your reels, nick? Some kind of strike indicator?

The ones on the dipseys are so I can run my drag slightly light and not here the occasional click click click. When a fish hits the wire cuts through them instantly.

The ones on the riggers are for fixed sliders.

These are the two places to hook the band to, around the line counter is smarter in case the band doesnt break so you dont get it all wrapped when you reel. I always forget to put it on the counter and put it on the reel handle... old habit.

Thought we had a huge brown, went deep and couldnt budge it... Put the boat almost in neutral... Ended up being 8lbs and hooked on the top of its back... Thats our third foul hooked fish the past two weeks.. Wtf.
