Hi everybody

I was told that closer to main salmon run there is a trolling technique, used mostly in the dark to use a rowboat and troll some special lures behind it. Does anybody have any info/comments on it? It is done around the mouth of Salmon river. Any help would be appreciated.

If I was to fish from a rowboat then the only lures I'd take with me are Flatfish - especially silver (U20, X5 & bigger).

Don't forget to have some lights on the boat. We'd hate to see you end up as a statistic.

fish, evil eye glow spoons. 6' leader, couple splitshot. 50-75' flatlined until you start getting some weeds on the line(within 2-3' of bottom). be super stealthy in the boat and work outside the mouth and the breakwall when the weather allows. dont go on the weekend and dont go out till at least 11pm or midnight. alot of times 3-5am is hot! best, mark

Like Tom said make sure you have some lights on.

Walleye guys do it. you are backing up with the stern slowing the boat up. They use a tiller engine to follow a conture slowly.
