my son and I are looking to go salmon fishing this weekend 9-3-11 and we were trying to figure out how deep the salmon are in lake ontario. We were thinking of leaving from sandy creek in Hamlin. thanks Here is another site with a measage board FYI lakeontariounited.com

A lot will depend on how the lake settled down after last weekend's storm. The winds were out of the north when we left on Sunday. If you have a temp probe, that may be the way to find the salmon. I have a feeling we'll all have to go out a bit deep to find them this weekend, but they are there....and they are BIG!!!!

Stay in 90-120 fow and put lures down 80-100ft... Salmon are starting to stage and there will be fish in there... For more action move out deeper and find fish on your finder or find how deep 48deg is.

I fished out of I Bay Wed. and had 48deg at 60fow and with the south wind today and tomorrow the temp should be around 40-50fow. I hope.
