Hi Gang,

I like the Walker Releases. They are quick and easy. Problem is the caps dry out and crack. I can't find the replacement caps. Has anyone solved this. I tried to get a 9/16" nut but the threads are too fine and Lowes did not have a fine threaded nut. Open for ideas.

Thanks,

Bob

Hey Bob,

Hope alls been well.

I also have walker releases on my riggers, but have never used them. (still haven't been able to get out on my boat to fish). how do you attach your line to these releases?

Hi,

In answer to your question, they couldn't be easier. You attach them between the downrigger terminator and ball. Make sure they are nose up. You then take the line and snap it in. The visual is like the line being the diameter on a circle. You will need to tweak the adjustable cap in the front to get the proper release tension. I've had excellent results with these and have been using them since '82. The only caveat is the white adjustable caps are subject to drying out and cracking in the sun. (THANK YOU JIM!!)

Good luck with these and let me know if I can be of further help.

Bob
