Not really. If the current is moving south at 2 knots and you are going north at 2 knots thenyour lures are moving through the water at 4 knots. Turn the boat around and go with the current and your lures are hardly moving. This is why the speed at your lure is so critical. Ever catch fish going one way and not the other? :D

Now I understand those silly test questions from high school: if a train leaves New York City traveling west at 50 mph and another train departs Chicago at the same time heading east at 70 mph, where will they meet?

I still don't know, but I bet there won't be any salmon there either.
