Went through last week with no problem. North on Wed. and south on Mon.

I was worried the flooding might have affected travel thru there. I heard 17 was closed at some point.

If you had a boat you would have been good!! My daughter lived in Owego, she and the two grandkids and her husband, her neighbors two adults and three kids all are staying with us. They have just been able to get some stuff out of their apts. today. The underpass on rt 38 is still full of water. Rt 81 runs on the high ground through bing.

I81 and the rt.17 exit north were both closed yesterday. Sat in traffic for 2.5hrs before getting on the rt11 detour.

I saw some reports that 1 lane was open on I-81. Hope that's true, and there's not a lot of gawkers running the roads and looking at people's misfortunes. I lived up there and experienced the 06 flood. I think this one went 3 feet higher. Can't imagine the devastation and heartache the people have to deal with.

Drove down to Roscoe this weekend. All I can say is that the devastation around Bainbridge and Sidney is unreal. There are some very unfortunate people right now.

81 north and south was open friday when I traveled back to work. 17 west of binghamton remains close.

Route 17 between Exit 61 (Waverly) and Exit 67 (Vestal/Endicott) re-opened to traffic Sunday afternoon, according to DOT spokesman Dave Hamburg. The road is now open in both directions in Broome and Tioga counties.
