I fish for: All kinds of fish...

==================

Just want to say, whats up to all of you =) I know you guys have boats (I mean good boats), just wondering you guys think my 14ft aluminum boat 10hp will do me any good in Lake Ontario to go out fishing? I mean maybe on really good weather days? I been out there and those waves made me turn my little boat back to shore lol... scary out there :\

For now I guess I'll stick around in the bays and smaller lakes, maybe the 11 finger lakes... than when I upgrade to a bigger boat, I'll fish Lake Ontario unless one day we get really good weather and I can go there now =)

But I'm happy that I found you guys on this website and I have seen some good useful info around here.. thanks everyone!

Welcome, Vadim. You have more boat than I do - I hitch a ride with a buddy.

From what I've seen (and read here), your biggest concern is handling in any waves and how quickly you can get back to safety when the weather changes suddenly for the worse. My guess, on Lake Ontario you're looking at only perfect weather (<1 ft waves) and staying 15 minutes at full throttle from safety. Someone more experienced will speak up if they disagree.

Welcome to the board. Get some lights on the boat; head out real early in the morning; take a left off the channel & troll shallow up towards the old bath-house. There's always some big Browns in there.

funny i saw a few browns this morning in the shallows between the pier and durand... big ones at that... probably in less than 10ft of water.
