Flasher or Dodger?

I have heard that given the slower movement associated with lakers I should use Dodgers with lakers and leave the Flashers for Salmon. Is this a good rule-of-thumb for these attrators?

Not really.

You can catch plenty of lakers on both....

And you can catch plenty of Salmon on both.

Most flashers come with two holes for the main line to attach to. The hole more towords the rear of the flasher is for slow trolling.

about 8 feet.

I use anywhere between 6 and 8 feet between the dipsy and flasher. Get many hits on flies with this setup.
