Why do dogders and flashers have one end with a swivel and the other not?

On the line end a swivel is needed to eliminate line twist. On the lure end the idea is to have the lure twist and turn with the attractor, thus sometimes no swivel. There are some brands with a swivel. I personally like the "Gold Star" items with the wrap in connection that looks like an open spring to attach the lure leader. Wish all brands would use them. On the morn of 9/8 we caught a nice King that did not fight too well in front of the Salmon River. He had a prfectly good fly in his mouth. The loop was in tact. I guess somene forgot to close the clip. He probably just finished his previous fight.
