Okuma Convector GL Trolling Rod?

im looking at buying some more downrigger rods and saw the convector GL rod in a store recently. looks like a nice rod. anybody have any experience with this model? its down to this rod in 8'6" or the 8'3" ugly stick. thanks, mark

Okuma is in the midst of changing and improving many of their Great lakes rods. The 8' 6" Convector in the 8--20lb test weight is one of my favorites for riggers, and one I asked them not to change.

thanks guys, im gonna give them a try. i noticed that some of the models are on clearance at some places so hopefully they dont disappear. best, mark
