Hey guys I just need to ask a quick question about Conesus Lake, or basically any lake around that area. I'm wondering about when Conesus Lake, or any surrounding lakes usually freeze. Here in Central/South Jersey, me and my buddies are usually out on local lakes and ponds by Xmas time. We were planning on renting a house for New Years, to relax and do some ice fishing. Were after those toothy critters we don't have here where I live. Im just wondering before I book anything, do the lakes up there usually have safe ice by New Years?

Not saying it isn't possible, but Conesus, Honeoye, and Silver lake usually aren't safe until about the second week in January in my experience. Sometimes a bit earlier, and sometimes later. The shallow bays off of Lake Ontario usually have the first ice by January 1st and are usually have good to very good pike action if that is what you are after. Might look into some of them.
