Does the launch at T Falls freeze up in winter? If so, where is the best place to launch on the southern end (18' boat)? I'm assuming Cayuga doesn't freeze the same as Seneca.

Thanks,

Doug

Taughannock falls has a bubbler that keeps it open. The ramp gets icy though!! You shouldn't have any trouble getting under the bridge with your 18 footer .

As the season progresses (normally) the opening at T-Falls can get tight (watch your transom toys) and occasionally the bubbler goes on the blink. Usually there is enough people launching after xmas time that the status of the launch becomes common knowledge.

Not too far over to Watkins anyway if T-Falls becomes a problem.BRING SAND W/ YOU WHEN U GO WINTER FISHING ;)

Thanks Dave and Andy. I learned to keep salt in the truck! Looking forward to some winter trolling. Andy, I'll keep the small ones off of my radar and let them grow!! :)

how about a 19 islander can it get under the bridge by any chance or to tight hate to have a windoless upper half

Can't say I'd try & get mine thru there. I only use my 16' boat in the winter.

We can get our 22ft sylvan off shore under the bridge very similar boat to the Islander but top of windshield clears by inches.. Have to take planner masts off and top and don't forget about the rods and antenna too, Seen that done a few times.. lol
