what's wth the holiday "lights" that make a breaking sound??

i know these aren't new, but i can't stand them. They are much louder than the other sounds my computer emits.

who else would rather the website not have 'em? any chance we can get rid of them?

sorry to be so bah-hum-bug but i can't stand their breaking sound...it also startles my dog!!!

The lights are a feature on a number of forums at this time of year.

The first one that popped was a surprise but after that the kids could not wait to pop more.

I disabled the sound and they got frantic as there was no noise.

After a while the kid in me started break them as well.
