Got a call from my son this morning, he lives on Messenger Bay . He said there were three ice fishermen on the bay at noon today, he thought they were in about 15-20 FOW. They need our prayers. .

Yep, and way off the NE side of Lewis Pt, on the hump too.

Absolutely insane.

Talked to some folks I know earlier this morning, and they were getting minnows at Marion Manor.......................they are nuts!!!

I stand corrected.

There is 5-6" of ice in/around the Edgewater Park/North Bay "corner", as I was told.

About 30 shantys out this morning.

Hey guys, for those that don't know the South Shore Association Oneida Lake will be holding there 59th Annual Ice Fishing Derby Feb. 4th. & 5th. 6690 South Bay RD. Cicero NY 315-699-8149. If theres ice. Plenty of door prizes for the kids.

Are you going to fish the contest Mike? I am still waiting for a little bit safer ice on the north shore before heading there.

Well thats sounds like a good start .

Forecast for the upcoming week showing daytime highs well above freezing, though.

Have to see what happens, as I like a bit more ice.

If 6", there has to 3" spots, or less.

Plenty of coyotes around to entertain myself with.
