Niagara Bar early spring lakers?

I am looking at targeting lakers on the Niagara Bar beginning in March. I see there is a ton of information out there and on here regarding fishing for them. Question that I have is, are you drifting with a 3 way swivel or trolling when your out on the Bar?

I have always just drifted, usually on the drop off into the river channel.

Drifting with either three-ways or 1, 1 and 1/2 or 2 oz. bucktail jigs. The guides from the river slow their drift with electric trolling motors and fish Quikfish in the current, just like for steelhead.

Could you tell me your "go to colors". I notice that there are a lot of colors and I do not want to spend a small fortune on something that I may only use a few times a year. Also do you tip your jigs with artifical baits or meat?

White, chart are usually good colors to start with. I usually tip the jig with smelt
