Orleans Derby

Mike Engle of the boat Coyote Ugly and myself concluded a successful derby with 2 browns, 15lbs and 14-3 on the board and a 5th place king at 27-8. We boated around 80 fish for the derby fishing out of Sandy. Looking forward to a good LOC. Joe- "Reel Drag"

Nice going Joe....looks like my old stomping grounds is holding a lot of leader board fish. I was out there a couple weeks ago...on a shake down cruise in a little 14 foot LOWE.....no gear on it yet...(not my boat either)..and running out of Sandy brought back a rush a great memories....

Have to get back into it some day...right now...running all over North America with a fly rod in my hand fishing from Mexico to Alaska...great fun...but I do miss the lake fishery and especially Sandy Creek.

Good luck in the LOC...probaby see you this fall some time.

Dave it's always good hearing from you. We really have had a GREAT year out of Sandy. I look forward to seeing you out on the tribs this year.Traveling around the country with a fly rod in hand doesn't sound like a bad idea. Looking at retiring a few years from now.
