Just received my model 10000 swim step motor bracket. When I put it on my built in swim platform it's 9 inch's higher than my transom. I want to get a Yamaha with a 25 inch lower unit, will it be long enough??? THANKS . DAVE

Dave, ideally you want the prop below your transom. But if you can the majority of the prop below the transom you should be in good shape. I ran a short shaft kicker years back and I was not totally below the transom, worked fine but it did create a water disturbance that showed up on depth finder when I bucking a head wind and had the rpms up.
