Brian would these be a good reel for leadcore. If so I might be interested also in 2.

They are a little small for leadcore unless you were making up short cores. I would go with a Penn 330 or something similar. Missdemeanor had a Daiwa Firewolf reel that would hold a full core in the forsale section.

I'm trying to put a couple together for spring. Never used them before. If I were to run them off planer boards. Should I run 5 or 10 color. Id like to buy a matched set also.

I would get a 10 color for sure. It can be used a little longer in the season. A five will work good until the steelhead start to drop deeper in the water column.
