oswego river walleyes

Does any body know what happened to the walleyes in the oswego river . I used to travel down there and fish from shore depending on the weater from Jan. til march 15 did it for several winters . The last few years have been terriable. It is about a 2 hour drive but me and my father in law used to go down on weekends faithfully and drive home that night. We would try to get there about 5:30 pm and stay til 12 to 1:00 am . Bucktail jigs were hot we would also catch a brown , lake trout or steelhead on occasion. I think it all started to go down hill when they did all the new railings and side walks. I think they also messed with the lock or tailrace on that side changed the water flow some how.We fished on the east side behind subway by the two motels.
