SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

Ran a quick solo shakedown cruise this morning to check things out. After reading the weekend reports from Rochester I didn't expect much other than checking out the boat and gear.

Dead calm flat, ran West to the bluffs, set up in 9 ft.....47 degrees on top with nice green colored water. trolled West to Crescent Beach, picked uo 2 small browns, both on an orange fire tiger Jr. Thunderstick, spun the boat and header back East. Slid out to 16ft. and dropped a Dreamweaver SS chicken wing down 8 ft. on the starboard rigger... got close to Round Pond outlet an the rigger fired with my personal best ever brown, just making 16 lbs. A mild breeze started from the NE, and I could see the fog wall moving closer to shore... I headed in for breakfast very happy with my first 2 hours of fishing for the year..

That's about the size of the brown that took a Chicken Wing on us yesterday. Sure wish it had made it in the boat.

Beauty of a Brown there Jim! Congrats on the PB and successful shakedown.
