This photo was taken by the MODIS satellite camera early afternoon, Saturday March 17th. The sliver of blue in the center of the picture is Irondequoit Bay, to the far right is Sodus Bay. This shows perfectly the process of Convection Fog, the NE wind blowing cold moist air against the warm land creating this heavy wall of fog from Rochester harbor West along the Greece ponds past Hamlin...... No sun at all in North Greece, 39 degrees and a cold wind....... 71 degrees at the airport....

It was foggy all day in Sodus. It was extremely thick in the morning. Felt like rain.
