SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

Arrived at Olcott around 2 on Sunday. A couple guys at the launch told us they did over 20 fish about 3 miles east in front of a small creek. I believe it may be Keg creek. So we headed east out of the Harbor. Started to set our lines and had a 6 lb brown on before we could even get the second line in the water. It was just non stop action from there. Good mud line the entire way east. Lots of cookie cutters with a few decent fish in the mix. We got the 2 Coho that afternoon. On our troll back West we landed a nice 12 lb brown between the Concrete island and the Olcott pier.

We continued our troll west past the harbor and picked a way at a few more. Finished out the day with our limit and plenty of trout for the smoker!

Monday was a little slower. The water had seemed much more clear by the harbor. Went east again and found some Mucky water. Still didn't have the distinct mud line like the day before. The average fish on Monday was a little better in size but a lot slower action. We picked away at them for the day. Found a couple steelhead in 20' fow but headed back into the 6 - 10' range.

All in all it was a great first trip to Lake O to start the year! Good times with good friends!
