Well I figured the subject would get everyones attention. I am In the process of shopping for a transducer for my Lowrance unit and Im not getting the answers I need. All I want to do is be able to mark fish at a speed of 20 mph give or take a few in most weather conditions. I hear there is a transducer out there that achieves this but am not sure what it is. Can any of the experienced Captains or Fisherman give me a shout in regards to this. I dont want to continue to by units that just dont work. Our Great lakes are big lakes and covering ground at 5mph looking for fish doesnt cut it for me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Guys!!!!

Are you able to run a thru-hull in an aluminum boat or just fiberglasss? I would thing the metal could screw up the ping reading...

Great question Majober. I was wondering the same thing. I love my HDS unit but i feel like there has to be a better transducer than the one it comes with.

What Lastminute said. I would call BOE marine. They will fix you up. Be ready a good transom mount ducer ain't cheap.

Which Lowrance unit do you have? I have an HDS8 and had a high speed transom mount transducer made for under $100. I can go 35mph and still mark with no problems. PM me if you want more details.
