I fished the Kring's Point/ Goose Bay area the last two days and the fishing has been good. Many 11-12' fish in the mix. Some guys commercial fishing and filling coolers as there is no limit in Jefferson County. Minnows are the ticket. Many of the females are spawned out so things may soon come to an end.

One word...

JEALOUS :(

Every year, I plan to go "next year" to get a cooler full of perch and every year I read about it instead. My priorities are messed up.

Thanks for the report...

Fished Kring's today caught a bunch of fish but mostly dinks. Talked to a bunch of other guys...same thing. Where are the hoggs? Wasn't worth the 2 hour trip one way...i missed out again...

Not sure as I crushed them on Tuesday and Wednesday. Mostly nice fish. Where exactly were you fishing? Hard to believe they are gone after what I caught this week but it can happen. I fished Mexico for browns yesterday and we went 20 for 23!

I fished around the mouth of the bay in 7-13ft of water. We caught a ton of fish...but mostly dinks..i think we kept a total of 25 fish over 9" for 3 guys fishing. I won't keep anything unless they are 9" and above. I seen a lot of guys keeping fish way smaller...to me it is not worth fileting anything under 9". Any thoughts?

On Wednesday I had 46 lbs. of large (over 8.5 inches up to 13") fishing by myself. I only had 10.5 lbs. of medium and 2 lbs. of small. The only smalls I keep are gut hooked. They are paying $1.75 for large and $1.50 for medium. That's a good ratio of large perch.

I use the largest fathead minnows I can get.
