Stripping old line off reels

I did one by hand and that was enough. Built this out of a pc of firewood and a lagbolt with head cut off. Well worth the few minutes it took to make.

I used a plastic soda bottle...same concept.

Must be you drill a hole in a cap of a bottle, run a bolt thru it, tighten it down with a nut.Then screw cap on bottle I like your idea better. You don't have to cut a bolt head off and you can unscrew the bottle, throw bottle and line away. Save cap/bolt assy.for next line change! Nice

Try drilling ahole in the center of the bottom of the larger size Campbell's soup cans. A small piece of duck tape will hold the line in place until you get a few raps on it and the can won't crush like the bottle I use to use. Add cordless screwgun and you can strip a couple thousand feet with one set-up. Mark

you guys are my new heros!!!!!!! I'll be using this tip - probably with the soup can option, at the end of the season. Too late for this year, but next year will be sooooooo much easier!!!!

Save your old bulk spools and put a threaded rod thru the center with two nuts and washers.

I use the popeye way, works great!
