My concern is wave heights on a pleasant day with about 10 to 15 mph breeze ?

Or how many days do I get with no more than 2' to 3' waves at the peak of afternoon winds ? I have always fished around Clayton N Y.

We can do morning runs if better, in a 19 Chaparral bow rider with a 220 hp V8. We would run out of Cape Vincent, N Y.

All depends on wind direction. Up in the Cape Vincent area, an E or ENE or ESE wind would be best - not a lot of fetch for the waves to build up. 10-15 from those directions would be fishable. Out of the W or WSW or SW, not so much. Those winds give most of the length of the lake for the wind to really build the waves up.

NOAA website has lots of tools for getting forecasts for areas around the lake.

Start here and use the links for point forecasts for specific areas on the lake.

You can always drop in Chaumont bay if you don't keep it in a slip. We do the majority of our fishing in Chaumont from 1st weekend in May to October. If we get a good W WSW wind we will go to the other side of Cherry Island and fish. We launch out of Long Point State park.
