SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

====================

well, the weather man was wrong. called for less than 1' waves and wind out of the n.w. it was actually 3-5' waves and wind out of the n.e. i was by myself so near shore trout fishing was problematic bc if i let go of the wheel the boat would spin like a top. so i decided to get far from shore and look around. i marked alot of fish in 32-35 fow. so i ran 2 gold spoons behind a blue and black dipsey. i managed 1 nice laker (1st one ever actually), my guess is 8-10 lbs. let him go. no other bites and my stomach was begging for mercy so i went home.

The waves were brutal out there today. Some how ended up with BOTH planer board lines in the prop. both were making a turn and the waves knocked us so bad that it was tangled. Worked on that one and then the other did the same thing! Brutal day, and this was during the initial set up. Gave up, went home... ;(

A "Jon" boat is a flat bottom boat, if theres even a 1 ft chop you will be pi$$ing blood for a week, not the most sea worthy vessels.

thanks Jay, I knew that lol just thought they were only like 14 or 16 ft boats, very small, you are right, waves had to be crashing over I would think
