Anywhere from .5 to 10 mph depending on species and time of year

Generally, i shoot for around 2 mph for shallow browns and just under 3 mph for deep salmon. That's at the surface. I don't have a fish hawk yet. But i vary it depending on currents and watch the bend in my dipsey rods during the summer.
