I'm in my slip since March 18. I drain the washdown hose. Leave it off. I forgot to drain the nozzle a few weeks ago. It split. But I drain it every week and haven't had an issue since. I'll be sleeping on my rig tonight!!! Heated blanket will be on a max!!!

We used to just put ALL covers on the boat. Seems like the warmer water heated the bottom of the boat & then that deck heat was slowly released thru the covers in place. Very light skim ice would be the worst for us on the St. Lawrence at Clayton N Y.

We also put a piece of plastic over the openings around the stern drive hatch openings. So far so good.

I went down to the boat and drained the washdown and removed the hose. I also put a light in the engine compartment to heat it up a little. I hope everyone survives the freeze.
