I have heard that if i paint my torpedos weights they will cut through water better and quieter is this true? They are just bare lead now. If so is there a preferred color or does it matter? Thanks guys

I'm sure that many a paint salesman will tell you that it's true. ;) Yrs ago I painted mine silver partially because I thought they looked better and partially because I was bored to death that weekend.

I'm fairly sure the fish care more about the lures than the weight. But then again. I've never caught a fish on a rigg'r weight.

I painted mine flat black last year and did well with them. One good reason to paint them is that you will be handling them a bit and no need to be handleing bare lead with all we know nowadays. The is one guy that does well with bubblegum pink paint on his. We all know who that is!!! ;);)

We paint all of our Torpedo Diver downrigger weights for one reason. We care about our customers, handling bare lead is toxic, especially if you eat food after handling bare lead, this is magnified with children handling lead. My 8 year old son is not allowed anywhere near our shop for this very reason.
