It's hard to say where the fish will be from one day to the next. From what I've seen, they are starting to hit the river in small numbers. I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to get into fish without riggers. Maybe add a leadcore or a 300 copper to give yourself a 4 rod spread and increase your chances.

fish are still staging off the river in 45-75 fow. we fished the 60 -75 feet range and the dipseys were fireing more then the riggers this year. we ran a #3 setting back 125 feet and 150 back on wire. hope this helps some for you . chrome echip with a mirage fly has been a hot one again this year.
