Headed to Alexandria Bay for the weekend. Was wondering where and what to fish. I am most interested in fishing Walleyes. Any help would be appreciated.

Best bet this time of year is to hed further north to Ogdensburg or a bit south to Dexter if your looking for eyes. They are around the bay but i cant seem to find them up there until around the 4th of July.

Lisbon Beach, north of Ogdensburg, was good opening weekend. (Many people fish the Canadian side by the Starch Plant). Black River Bay, Chamount Bay and Pillar Point area are also good. As Ryan said the Alex Bay area is better a bit later in the year but all the mentioned areas are good early spots and also are good areas for big fish. Lisbon is mostly a jig and jigging spoon bite, while the other areas are usually fished with worm harnesses, stick baits and crank baits while trolling. All are within an hour of A bay.

If your sticking in the A Bay area I'd fish perch, crappie, pike and bullhead. Check with the 1000 Island Bait Store on whats happening.
