Hello. I am running a white and a green dipsy diver with limited success. Does the color really matter?

Thanks, in advance, for the info.

Thanks for the color types....much appreciated. I am planning on getting out of Oswego on Tuesday after that dreaded thing called work.

I do like the clear one, but I have done well on the green and the chartrouse (sp) one as well. For that matter my gold and orange ones have not done much for kings deep. I do suspect they would do well up high in the spring for the kings and the steelhead.

Black, Clear, Green W/ Yellow Ring, Metalic Purple & Glow.

But than again this is the only colors I have ever bought.

Ohh I did run a orange slide diver once. I soon painted it black.

Ray,

An old topic but I’ll put in my two cents. I try to match the lure and or flasher to the dipsy. I not sure if that works better than the clear or black. I have tried both of them and did not seem to be any better. After seeing all the different answers no sure what colors to recommend. All clear is the most economic way to go with alot less to have on board.

Chrome and black, sometimes pearl. Its not like a dipsie is a stealth thing, it must come through the water like a marching band with the wire line.

I usually run 4 metalic purple ones either with a white or black ring. My dipseys are usually the hottest thing going. At times Iwill toss in a clear or black and sometimes glow froggy, but purple metalic is my go to.

I like to use different colours when i am running a clean spoon behind it as an attractor, otherwise black & clear as well when a flasher is allready being used

Black, Black and Black are my three hottest dipsy colors. I want the flasher to be the attractant, not the dipsy. I have pink ones, firetiger, metallic purple, orange....painted them all black!

I always run a black one off the starboard and a purple off the port. I like to have the 2 different colors so that they get reset to their proper side of the boat. One of the first things I tell any newbie crewmates is "purple off the port side".

I agree with Billy Black and Black I did run clear last spring and caught a few but I have different colors in my arsenal but mainly I use black.

you have to prep them at all before painting, or just blast them with some black paint?

Here we go being different. Blk/purple with the glow bellie . Or silver with yellow ring. Also have had good luck with black or clear dipseys.

Life is just better when the wires are working.
