SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

====================

Went out for the first time of the season. Hit 80' of water for a few hours then moved in to 40' with lures spanning all range of depth. Moved out to >200' where we had success in the past. Had all but one fish on flat-lined Ripplin Redfin lures. Let out lots of line and got our first one (small Chinook) around 3:30pm on a Blue + Chrome Redfin. 30min later a shaker hit on NK28 Orange Monkey Puke 10' down. Then had a hit every 20-30min on Blue + Chrome or Green + Chrome Ripplin Redfins until 5:30pm when they started hitting a Black + Purple Ripplin Redfin. Seem to like to hit only on the flat-lines out the back. Biggest fish hit after 5pm and seemed to have lots of energy. We were flat-lining 8lb test on 7' medium-light poles so they were a joy to fight. Lots of jumping and acrobatics. Lost 3 due to this (2x spit and one cut line).

Thank, Tim. Hadn't heard of it before so I missed the reference - looks nice.

Hadn't launched there in 20 years. It's a nice ramp, but it'll cost you $23 to launch. They do offer a seasonal pass for around $120.

Pricey. We usually launch out of either Sandy Creek in Hamlin, NY (free) or at Irondequoit Bay ($7?).

Ya it's the most expensive one I've ever launched at. I've had $20 but never more than that. There are other free ones in the area albeit a longer boat ride to where we wanted to fish.

afterschools......Foran's marina is 2 more exits further east off the QEW niagara bound.

They will let you launch before normal hours as there is no gate...they simply get you to pay once you get off the water. Boat launch and parking is 12.00

Launch is really nice...concrete with a quick drop off for bigger boats. Also it is nice and protected.

I gave up on 50 point marina due to the cost and the fact you cannot launch until the park opens at either 7 or 8 am (cannot remember which it is)

hopefully will save you some $$$ -John

John,

Thanks for the tip. I'm heading out now to meet my partner in crime there. The reason we've launched out of Fifty Point is to avoid as much of the QEW as possible. I'll relay this information and maybe we'll try Foran's tomorrow.

I'm thinking Foran's have taken ALOT of 50 points launch customers...please give us your thoughts on the ramp

Never did end up testing it out. We'll likely be launching out of Bluffer's Park for the foreseeable future but next year may head to Foran's.
