Spin Dr Question

Can someone tell me if there is supposed to be 2 huge swivels or 1 on a Spin Doctor? I know there is 1 in the front where it connects to the line but Im not sure about the back.

Also what is the ideal length of a cheater line?

To be honest, I keep the one on the SD only. I've tried it with two, where the fly comes with a swivel as well, and haven't noticed any issues.

When you say what is the lenght of the cheater line, do you mean the lenght of the leader line (from SD to bait)?

It depends:

24 - 28" if you are using a fly.

36 - 40" if you are using cut herring bait or artificials (MC Rockets). Reason for longer lead is you don't want the swing action of the SD to affect the rotating action of the herring bait.

No I was talking about a regular cheater line using a downrigger.

So I should only use the 1 giant swivel on the SD?

I use both swivels. Makes it easy to change flies for different combos.make sure the ball bearing swivel stays on the front. Cheater length can't be more than rod length. I keep mine 4-6'.

Can't be to much longer than the rod , or you will have a time trying net a fish on it.
