Does anyone know of a good Lake Erie Icefishing Guide (for walleyes)? I would like to take my father out and get him some Eyes this winter. If anyone has info on a good guide, please pass it along.

I should say "I dont fish Erie, but dont cancel out Quinte or Mud Bay as options". The NYS pending record walleye was caught ice fishing out of Chaumont bay this year. There are definately great ice charters out of Quinte, but you would have to go through the hoop-la of getting a Canadian license.

Thanks for the advice kingfisher06. I don't really want to go over the boarder to Quinte. Too many hoops to jump through.

Most Lake Erie ice fishing operations are in Ohio, near Port Clinton and the islands. The lake freezes there early. I can't understand someone looking for monster sized walleye. If you're gonna eat the fish, concentrate on the smaller fish. Less contaminants and the big ones are the valuable female breeders. It must be the magazines they read and the money contest braggers.

Jimski2,

I'm just looking to get numbers not a slob. If we pick up a wall hanger, it will be an added bonus.
