Salvation Army Derby returns

The Salvation Army in Ithaca has been working for several months to restart the derby they suspended a couple of years ago. It will be September 8-9, 2012 on Cayuga Lake. Grand Prize will be $1250.00 with three divisions and total prizes of $5000.00. There will also be a optional lunker prize. Sign up forms and a website will be available by the end of June.

The Salvation Army is currently looking for sponsors and committee volunteers. Ron Seacord is the derby chairman and can be reached at 607-277-4787 or [email protected] .

i am not familiar with this derby is it based in ithica or are there multiple weigh in locations

It is based in Ithaca with the weigh in and prizes awarded at Myers Park in Lansing

Glad to hear about this. It was a good event the few years that they had it. Timely with the red cross derby throwing in the towel this year......

Yes the derby is going to happen. Sponsors are coming along. There should be more information and a web site in the next couple of weeks.
