SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

====================

Heard it was a great weekend out on the lake, but could't get out til mid afternoon today. Had the girlfriend in the boat for her first ever adventure in downrigging.....First fish took the diver 225' back on a 2.5 setting...Mountain Dew SD with blue hammer fly. One very tired GF later, she had her 18 lb king salmon in the back of the boat. The other diver hit while she was "playing" with her fish and had one on for a minute, before dropping it. That was a white/glow SD with a green fly. That diver was set 225' back on a 2.0 setting. It took another king a little while later...8lb'r which gave her another nice fight. In between had 1 - 7lb Steelie hit a NK Blue Dolphin set on a long lead small diver about 150 foot back. Before i could grab the rod, the steelhead started putting on a wonderfully acrobatic/ariel display for a good 3-4 minutes before totally tiring himself out. (He made for a great dinner :)) The riggers were quiet all day, til one hit around 6pm. Lost the fish when it hit the surface, but appeared to be a steelie that took a wonderbread stinger on the slider line, but it broke the line and now we need to head to the store for more wonderbread!! :) ALL IN ALL A GREAT DAY TO JUST BE ON THE WATER!!!!!
