HI Guys

I was wondering what the rules are when the boat is moving, can a passenger drink a beer or is that considered an open container violation?Somebody at work told me the boat must be anchored and the key removed from the ignition. I never drink on the boat because I am always rigging or driving the boat so I just wait till I get home to have a few but my buddy's enjoy there beers so I was wondering what the rules are.

Thanks

Gene

They can drink all they want. Be careful though, a drunk sometimes doesn't understand the meaning of safe. You have the option of only allowing a certain amount onboard.

In Canadian waters, a boat without a head [toilet] and open containers of alcohol aboard can cause you to lose your license and your boat and gear. The world is changing and your job and livelhood could be lost for a bottle of beer.
