Accudepth 27 problem

I have an accudepth 27 that when fighting a fish the drag will back off. Anyone else have this issue? The drag works fine most of the time it just acts like you spun the drag adjuster. It's not really worth sending out for repair but I'd like to fix it myself if anyone has any ideas.

Are you sure its the drag and not the spool slipping on the mainshaft? Wire and braid will sometimes break the epoxie that holds the spool to the mainshaft.

I have the exact problem with my 17. Sent it to Daiwa and it was not fixed.

Dave, if I tighten up my drag when it slips it work fine again. I'll check into your suggestion though, thanks.
