Might not be a bad idea to run mixed gas for the first tank. It will provide extra lubrication, and you can then insure the oil injection system is working, by observing usage of injection oil from the tank. From what I've heard, some Merc's used a plastic gear for the injection pump that was prone to failure.

I'd put a couple drops of oil in each cylinder and turn the flywheel by hand a few times before firing her up. If you've got any fuses under the cowl, I'd make sure of good connections. I.E. no corrosion on the ends of them. Also, I'd look at the grease on the starter gear/shaft.
