Great day of fishing. Pre-fished on Friday and stumbled across a few decent sized fish right out front. The weather was for the most part going to stay consistent overnight so we figured we would start out where we were on Friday evening. Turned out to be the right choice. First fish on in 15 minutes, 6 fish box by 6:52. Continued to have great flurries of action throughout the day with only two lulls for the day around 9 and again at 11:30. With the wind, currents and waves, it made it a challenge to stay consistent on our presentation regarding speed and direction of travel. Lots of cranking the wheel and adjusting the throttle. As we all know how important that is because "Speed Kills". One thing that was nice about the breeze was that I think it must have kept the "bitey" flies away, no need for bug spray.

We were taking fish all across the spread with dipseys, coppers and riggers all firing pretty equal. Everything was running pretty much in the 90-110 foot range. We were marking decent bait and fish at 212 fow in the morning. That kind of dried up and they seemed to have moved, a check out deeper didn't find them so eventually we moved into and settled into the 155-165 range and did another bunch of fish. The troll was primarily East-West unless there were traffic related turns.

All in all it was a great day with a 17 out of 24 success rate. Broke off the trailing hook on a fly on a 500 copper that had the drag a little too tight. The hit felt like it was an absolute smasher but we will never know. The big fish was a 27.65 that was edged out for big fish of the day by 3 tenths of a pound. Our 6 fish box totaled 135.05 which worked out to be a first place finish and about a 12lb gap over second place. Amazing day. We would like to thank Tom Allen, Stephanie and everyone else that worked hard to put together another year of the A-TOM-MIK Challenge. Thanks.

We fished the challenge too. It was a little slow for us with only a few in the box in the first few hours and then once we slipped out to 160 170 FOW it was fast and furious with us culling fish. We ended up going 14 for 17 on the day. Once that sun got high anything chrome and Mtn Dew colored was taking rips. It was a little rough at times fishing with those rollers, but made it fun getting the fish in to the boat. I am still waiting to see where our team ended up. We were far off in points from the number 12 team. Congrats on your win.
