Was wondering what type of attractor people prefer to use when running meat? What size/ color.... never ran meat before but hear that if you want the BIG one to run meat and run it deep! Any thoughts about it would be great!!

Thanks Matt

11" okie flashers here

blue/white

green/glow

frog/glow

watermelon

black/silver

gold

meat can be very effective

be sure to get the roll right

be patient...not a lot of bites on meat but usually a decent fish

No expert here, but we run Twinkies, off 11" plates, or Slashers.

Mostly glows.

Biggest fish we caught last season was on a meat rig.

Matt,

Don't be fooled into the "big" flasher thing, meat can and is just as effective behind an 8" spin doc as it is a 11" paddle. That being said my go to is a 10" straight white Spin Doc down the shoot. It may not fire the most in a day but stats prove it will ALWAYS be the biggest fish boated on the trip. FYI ..... S & R bait shop on Culver in Seabreeze has Familiar Bite and the Cut strips. Good luck with the meat thing mine are going to be running every trip from here on out

Love the OKI flashers for whole bait, 8" SD for fillet on dipsies. Like bottom_F* said, doesn't take the most, but normally a good size when they are hit

Ever hear of the Cal City Chicken rig?

Is basically a 0 size luhr jensen silver glo dodger with a meathead ran 18 to 24 inches behing it. One of the best baits on my boat.

When you guys run meat, do you brine or run just natural?? if so what colors?? I would assume with so many green F/F combos that a green brine would be the best shot??

If I get it fresh that day, i don't brine it. Whatever is left over gets brined for 24hrs. then frozen until next use. Holds up better than just refreezing it and better than tossing it just to buy another tray the next time we go out.
