Started out the chute on Saturday about 5:45 and took a nice roller coaster ride for about an hour and a half. Just too rough to be effective (and keep everyone from getting sick). My boat mates for the weekend are avid bass fishermen, so we went into the bay where it was a little calmer, and was able to get them a pile of bass. Sunday turned out much better, being able to stay out on the main lake. Set rods in 120' and worked out to 180'. We had a great flurry starting at 140', we struggled keeping the rods in the water but only put two steelies in the boat. We circled back and worked the 140'-170' range and got another flurry around 9:00 AM. Aagin putting two more steelies in the boat. Shortly after everything slowed and we packed it in around noon. We ran mostly spoons and SD/fly combo, NBK and blue dolphin both taking fish, most hits came in the 80'-90' range.

Still waiting to put the first King on the boat this year. I seem to be catching on to the steelies, but the Kings elude me. Soon enough I hope to get zeroed in on them.

More than likely you were fishing too shallow for the kings. General rule of thumb: if you're getting steelhead, you're fishing too high for the kings. They like the cooler water and I believe on Sunday (from what I heard) they were down 120-150 ft.
