SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

====================

Morning bit picked up quick with a few small steelies right off the bat in 110fow then slowed down for a while with a fish here and there, then about an hour and half of nothing, left from 250 to go back inside to around 120. put out our normal late morning go to stuff to hopefully get the bite goin again. Picked up a decent brown, and as soon as we get it in, the 230 wire just gets destroyed. I grab the rod, and that pissed off king wanted no part of being hooked up and ripped out 500 feet of line like it was his job. After a bit, the net slides under our first good king of the day just over 23lbs. While resetting the that dipsy, the port side 250 wire starts going ballistic, so the old man grabs it and has his fun. Didn't rip a whole lot of line, so bringing it in, we were thinking 18-20lb range. With a few feet of line out, I grab the net, take a look into the water and quickly realized this wasn't a 20lber. Few seconds later net goes under and in the boat goes our derby king. Oh, we aren't in the derby? :@ Get back to the dock, throw in on the scale, 28.5lbs. Good enough for 7/8th if we were in, getting lower as the month goes on, but would have been nice to see his name up there for a while.
