Slow way down!!!!!!!!!!! I landed 25 kings in 3.5 days of fishing and we never went any faster than 2.0 on my down speed!!!! The #4 j plug will dive 3 feet at 2 mph.

for late fall kings- J-Plugs at 2.5 to 3.0 MPH are the best lure made!!! I would never troll slower then 2.5 while pulling j-plugs. Size 4 j-plug will dive about 5 feet at 3 that speed- depending on size of line and leader.

If it works for you, but for me we crushed 28 of them last week at 2. Anything slower our faster they would not hit!! ask the guides on this site what there speeds have been............

Trolling speed for jplugs depends on the day, overcast days with tons of fish moving through you can rip around and cover water up to 3.0 mph down speed. Some days you can get them goin 2.25. I have had the most conisistent luck going 2.5+ with size 4 and 5 j plugs. You do get them on turns and slowing down, it just depends on the mood of the fish that day.
