Dipsey snubbers

Whats the deal with dipsey snubbers? I have never used them. Does anybody use them and what are the advantages and disadvantages.

ya dont need em , tho i still have i dyp rigged with one,used to swear by em but im gonna join the non users due to better hookup ??????

but honestly if its a good bite either way yer gonna get a good hookset ,ive been running 1 per side for a few years with no noticable difference.

We started to get away from them also... however... yesterday we were having a terrible time with dipseys getting hit, ripping out line for 5 seconds and then gone. We put a rod out with a snubber on it... all the fish hooked up. Could be coincidence, don't know, but with the amount of bite and spits we've had on dipseys this year, I'm willing to try it

I have found a better hookset without the Snubbers.. Ran them for the first year with the wire rods and then went straight no snubbers and more hookups....Just my 2 cents
